Nick Palazzo Announces 2x2 Sports Girls Flag Football Camp Series for Spring 2027
By SportsNutrition.com ·
Nick Palazzo and 2x2 Sports have announced a five-date girls flag football camp series for spring 2027. Designed for girls in grades 6 through 12, the program will combine position coaching, athletic testing and live round-robin competition in a three-hour format led personally by Palazzo.

A five-date camp built to teach, measure and compete
2x2 Sports announced the new camp series on October 2, 2026. Each of the five spring sessions is scheduled to run for three hours. The opening 90 minutes will focus on hands-on instruction and athletic testing, followed by 90 minutes of scrimmage and round-robin tournament play.
The structure is intended to give athletes more than a conventional clinic. Players will work on position-specific movement, route running, flag pulling and footwork before applying those lessons in live competition. Measurable testing results will give participants a reference point for their development.
Athletes can attend a single date or participate throughout the five-date series. Because the testing will be repeated at each camp, returning athletes will be able to compare results and track their progress across the spring.

Nick Palazzo will lead the sessions personally
The camp series will be led by 2x2 Sports founder Nick Palazzo, a former Harvard running back and member of the Crimson's undefeated 2001 Ivy League championship team. Palazzo was also nominated for the William V. Campbell Trophy, widely known as college football's Academic Heisman.
“Football gave me everything — discipline, brotherhood, and a faith that carried me through the hardest days,” Palazzo said in the announcement. “Girls deserve that same experience, and flag football is the door that opens it for them.”
Palazzo described the camp model in direct terms: “We test, we teach, and then we play. The first 90 minutes make you better. The second 90 minutes show you how much better you've become.”
That combination gives a new player room to learn fundamentals while giving an experienced player meaningful repetitions and measurable feedback. The announcement says the series is open both to girls who are brand-new to football and to athletes who are already competing.
A program for middle school and high school girls
The camp is designed for girls in grades 6 through 12, spanning the years when many athletes first encounter organized flag football and begin preparing for high school competition. Keeping the age range clear also gives families a straightforward way to determine whether the program fits their daughter.
The live-play portion is a central part of the format. Route concepts, footwork and flag-pulling technique can be introduced in drills, but a scrimmage asks athletes to recognize space, communicate and make decisions at game speed. The round-robin format is intended to give every athlete opportunities to put the first half of the session into practice.
The repeated testing component adds continuity across otherwise stand-alone dates. A participant who attends multiple camps can see whether her movement and performance measures change over the spring rather than leaving with only a one-day impression.
Why girls flag football is gaining momentum
The announcement arrives as girls flag football continues to expand in schools and communities across the United States. More states are sanctioning the game at the high school level, creating clearer pathways for athletes who want to learn the sport and compete for their schools.
Flag football is also scheduled to make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. That milestone gives today's middle school and high school players a visible elite stage and adds momentum to the development of coaching, leagues and competitive opportunities for girls.
For 2x2 Sports, the growth of the game creates an opportunity to connect skill development with the organization's broader emphasis on confidence, character and community. The camp series is positioned as an entry point for newcomers and a development environment for active players.
Faith, family and football at 2x2 Sports
Palazzo founded 2x2 Sports as a faith-based athletic organization focused on empowering female athletes through flag football, fitness and character development. Its name is drawn from Luke 10:1 and the idea of going forward two by two — building trust and lifting up the person beside you.
“At Harvard I learned that the best teams are built on people who trust each other,” Palazzo said. “That's what 2x2 Sports is about — going out two by two, lifting each other up on and off the field.”
His path to the program includes both football and sports media. Palazzo played at Harvard from 1999 through 2003 and helped the 2001 team finish undefeated. While at Harvard, he founded STACK Media, which developed into a major athletic training platform. He later created 2x2 Sports with a particular focus on opportunities for female athletes.
A father's standard for the camp experience
The release also frames the series from a parent's perspective. Palazzo, a father of four daughters, said that the way athletes are coached and treated matters as much as the football instruction itself.
“I'm a dad first,” he said. “I want every parent who drops their daughter off at our camp to know she'll be coached hard, treated with respect, and sent home more confident than when she arrived.”
That promise sets a clear standard for the planned sessions: demanding instruction, respect for every participant and an experience intended to build confidence. The program's three-part rhythm — measure, teach and compete — supports that goal by allowing athletes to see where they are, learn what to improve and test those skills in a team setting.
Dates, location and registration are coming next
The exact five dates, camp location and registration details have not yet been announced. 2x2 Sports said those details will be released in the coming months. Families should rely on the official 2x2 Sports announcement for updates rather than unofficial schedules or locations.
What is confirmed is the audience and format: girls in grades 6 through 12, a spring 2027 series led by Nick Palazzo, and three-hour sessions divided evenly between instruction and competition. Athletes may choose one date or return for all five to monitor their progress.
The series brings together the major themes of Palazzo's work after football — teaching young athletes, building stronger sports communities and creating an environment where girls can develop skills and confidence together.
